DRWN shows a message at the top of the map when something is stopping it. The usual causes:

• Location is set to "While Using". DRWN can only start on its own with "Always". Go to Settings → DRWN → Location → Always.
• Precise Location is off. Turn it on in the same place, or drives will look rough.
• Motion & Fitness is off. DRWN uses it to notice when you start moving. Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness.
• DRWN was swiped away in the app switcher. iOS won't restart an app you've swiped away until you open it again. Leave DRWN in the background and it keeps watching.

To record a drive right now, tap the button on the map and choose "Record this drive".

After you've been still for 5 minutes, or sooner when iOS detects you've arrived somewhere. A red light or a drive-through doesn't end a drive. You can change the 5 minutes in Settings.

Yes. Walks count once they're sustained. Each drive is tagged with how you traveled, and you can change the tag if DRWN guessed wrong.

Tap the button on the map and choose "Don't record for 2 hours", or stop or discard the drive in progress. While a drive is recording, you can also stop it from the Lock Screen.

GPS runs only while you're moving. When you're still, DRWN relies on your iPhone's low-power motion chip and cell and Wi-Fi location, which use very little power. Expect DRWN to show up in Settings → Battery on days you drive a lot, and barely at all on days you don't.

Restore from an iCloud Backup or use Quick Start when you set up the new phone; DRWN's data comes with it. You can also export everything as GPX or GeoJSON and import it on the new phone.

Yes. Tap the button on the map, choose "Import GPX or GeoJSON", and pick your files. Imported drives are cleaned up the same way recorded ones are.

To delete one drive, tap "Pick a date", choose the day and the drive, then "Delete this drive". You can undo it for a few seconds. To delete everything, open Settings → "Delete everything".

Frame the area you want on the map, tap the button, and choose "Export a poster". Pick a size up to 8K and save it to Photos or share it.
